Background

In 2017, a class action lawsuit was filed in the District of South Carolina alleging the Defendants conspired to fix, raise, maintain or stabilize prices for Ready-Mix Concrete violation of federal antitrust laws. At this time, the class entered into settlements with Evans ($5.8 million), LaFarge ($5.4 million), and Thomas ($7.6 million) for a total of $18.8 million.



The settlements are pending final approval. The settlement fund will be distributed if and when final approval is granted and after completion of a claims process. The litigation is currently ongoing against the remaining Defendants and it is possible that additional funds may become available to the class as the result of a trial or future settlements.
